The distinction matters: compartment depth is the space inside; overall height is the size of the closed case. Deep adds 0.5 inches to the outside height without increasing the 8 × 1.5-inch footprint. Its compartment depth is twice Standard's, but that does not guarantee it will hold twice as many of your particular items.
When Standard makes sense
Standard is the lower-profile option for carrying in a bag compartment or keeping in a shallow drawer. It is worth considering for smaller tablets and regular capsules, provided the complete contents of each day fit below the lid's path.
Do not choose solely from a label such as “regular capsule.” Capsules and tablets vary in length and thickness. A smaller quantity of bulky items may need more room than a larger quantity of small ones.
When Deep makes sense
Deep offers more room above the compartment floor. Consider it when comparing options for larger softgels, oversized capsules, or several items in one daily compartment. It is also the option to consider if vertical clearance is the limiting factor in a shallower case.
Extra depth does not solve every fit problem. An item that is too long or too wide still needs a compartment with suitable internal length and width. Check all three internal measurements rather than relying on depth alone.
Three checks before you order
- Check the largest item. Compare its length, width, and thickness with the compartment measurements shown on the product page. The exterior dimensions include walls and the closure, so they are not the usable interior dimensions.
- Consider the full contents of one day. Shape and arrangement affect fit. Avoid estimating capacity from a pill count or a pile in your palm. If the fit is close, ask us before ordering.
- Measure where the case will go. Allow for the closed case and the space needed to operate its sliding lid. Both versions are 8 inches long; Deep is 0.5 inches taller overall.
Once you have the case, check that the contents sit clear of the sliding lid and that it closes fully without force. Do not compress items or force the lid over an overfilled compartment.

How many pills fit in each compartment?
There is no single reliable count for every pill shape. This guide does not claim a tested capacity for your particular combination. Use the product's compartment measurements and the actual dimensions of your items, or contact us for help assessing fit.
Does Deep have more days or separate AM/PM sections?
No. Both versions have seven daily compartments. Choosing Deep increases depth; it does not create separate morning and evening compartments. If separate time-of-day sections are important to you, look for a layout designed for that purpose.
